ABOUT
Hello, my name is Michael Casey and this page is here to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a Senior Bioengineering student on the Cellular Engineering Track currently enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh. Along with academics, I am an Analytical Methods Development Contractor for Cook MyoSite prepare validation methods for the companies' processes and products before FDA BLA submission. In the past, I have conducted research at the University's School of Medicine in the Kiani lab working on optimizing CRISPR transduction rates in physiological conditions using Liver-on-Chip systems where I still help as a lab technician when able.
I have also taken the role of Mentorship/Mental Health Chair of our local chapter of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) where I am in charge of the pairing and organization of over 100 undergraduate pairs, as well as encouraging mental health through events and resources. Recently I have joined the University's Design Hub board as the Teams Head position where am in charge of staying in contact with the active projects and relaying their status and needs to the rest of the board.

Outside of Academics, I enjoy recreational swimming, weight lifting, watching Japanese Animation, and taking time to stay connected with my friends.
